Double arc is a sculpture born out of a strong sensation of pleasant tension in body and mind. Something I experienced during studio work or in rare moments of deep focus and relaxation. An empty aiming for nothing with intensity and presence. The first version was made with dozens of found objects during three  days of a kind of creative trance of assembling.

In the Zen tradition archery is a spiritual practice  to harmonize the connection between body and mind. Eugen Herrigel beautifully resumes in his book  “Zen in the Art of Archery the practice of Archery”. I found particularly interesting how western philosophers such as Heraclitus and Nietzsche used this concept as metaphor for generative force.
